Sri Lanka’s Kusal Perera is the hero of the Pakistan Super League final

The Pakistan Super League Twenty20 cricket tournament or PSL 2025 recently ended with the victory of the Lahore Qalandars team led by Shaheen Shah Afridi.

This is the third time that the Lahore Qalandars team has won this tournament, which was held for the 10th time. They had previously won in 2022 and 2023 and Shaheen Shah Afridi was responsible for leading this team this time too.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Quetta Gladiators players scored 201 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their innings. Hasan Nawaz was the highest scorer in that innings. He scored 76 runs off 43 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes.

In addition to him, Avishka Fernando scored 29 runs off 22 balls with 5 fours and Dinesh Chandimal scored 22 runs off 13 balls with 2 sixes.

In terms of wickets, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi took 3 wickets for 24 runs. In addition, Haris Rauf and Salman Mirza took two wickets each and Rishad Hossain and Sikandar Raza took one wicket each.

In reply, Lahore Qalandars scored 204 runs with just 4 wickets to spare in their innings.

Sri Lanka’s Kusal Perera and Bhanuka Rajapaksa played outstanding innings in that innings.

As the match progressed, Kusal Perera reached his half-century with a four in the 28th ball he faced and added a six in the next ball he faced. Accordingly, they need 13 runs in the last over to win.

In that victory, Kusal Mendis scored 62 runs not out in 31 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes, while Sikandar Raza scored 22 runs not out in 7 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Abrar Ahmed, Usman Tariq, Mohammad Amir and Faheem Ashraf shared a wicket each in the wicket-taking.
