Harsha de Silva reveals about SriLankan Airlines.

According to the latest information, 31 out of the 45 destinations served by SriLankan Airlines are incurring losses, said Dr. Harsha de Silva, Chairman of the Public Finance Committee of Parliament.

He also said that SriLankan Airlines has incurred a loss of Rs. 3.4 billion in the first quarter of this year. He stated that SriLankan Airlines’ passenger revenue has declined and fuel costs have also declined.

He also stated that SriLankan Airlines has liabilities of $ 978 million and local currency loans of Rs. 51 billion. He also stated that SriLankan Airlines had to restructure bonds with interest arrears of about US $ 200 million.
