A group of nearly 250 manpower workers at the Muthurajawela Litro gas terminal have begun a strike.
They are alleging that their salaries have not been increased for many years and that they have not even been paid the minimum wage set by the government.
The workers say they will not end the strike until the government gives a written promise to pay the wages set.
