Investigations begin into 300 bribery cases.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption says that investigations have been initiated into 300 complaints related to large-scale corruption and fraud.

Its Director General, former High Court Judge Ranga Dissanayake, said that the files related to those complaints were those for which investigations had not been initiated for many years.

He said that the majority of them were received against the then government ministers. The Director General stated that about 15 complaints had been received against some former ministers.
