Indigenous leader Uruwarige Vannila Athathan has expressed his opposition to a video titled Suduwalige Atho that is currently circulating on YouTube, based on a character depicting an indigenous leader.
Condemning the creation, he says that the culture of the indigenous people has been distorted and insulted through it.
Indigenous leader Uruwarige Vannila Athathan also alleges that the relevant video has been created for commercial purposes. He also says that he will file a lawsuit in court in the future, seeking compensation for the insult caused to the indigenous people and culture.
