Fuel distributors from across the country have gathered at Galle Face Green in front of the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo. The group is reportedly waiting to hand over a memorandum to President Anura Dissanayake.
They are demanding that the fuel commission they were given be returned.
A controversial situation has arisen due to the abolition of the relevant commission by the Petroleum Corporation. Meanwhile, the Petroleum Distributors Association says that no fuel orders have been placed in the past 48 hours.
The Vice President of the Association, Mr. Kusum Sandanayake, says that they will refrain from ordering fuel until they are given reasonable solutions.
