National People’s Power MP Chandana Suriyaarachchi says that the imposition of a fifteen percent tax on those earning foreign currency through social media and receiving dollar income from foreign countries is very fair.
He points out that such a fair tax has been imposed in a context where a tax system of up to thirty-six percent is in effect for other professionals in the country.
Therefore, he says that this new tax is a very fair program that is implemented with a concession. He said this in response to a media inquiry regarding the new tax imposed by the government.
