With the lifting of the vehicle import ban, the first batch of vehicles imported from Japan is set to arrive in the island today (27), said Sri Lanka Vehicle Importers Association Chairman Prasad Manage. He stated that the ship carrying these vehicles is set to arrive at the Hambantota Port and will bring 300 vehicles there.
This is the first time in 5 years that new vehicles are being imported from Japan. He also stated that the vehicles will be delivered to the people who ordered them promptly.
Meanwhile, a batch of double cab vehicles imported from Thailand has arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday.
