Protesting against the neglect of health professionals in this budget proposal, all health professional associations have decided to report to work wearing black belts in hospitals across the country from today, said Thushara Ranadeva, President of the Government Pharmacists Association.
He further said that if solutions to the health service problem are not provided within a week, strict industrial action will be initiated from next week.
“Health care professionals are a group that works 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They cannot be off duty, whether on holidays or at night. By ignoring the budget proposals, the remaining health professionals will be left behind. In this situation, the health service will once again be dragged into a series of industrial action.
