Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe is reportedly set to be elected as a member of parliament before the end of this year. Political sources say that a National List MP currently representing the New Democratic Front is set to resign to pave the way for this.
It is also reported that several opposition MPs will also join Wickremesinghe after he is elected to parliament. Various parties have already suggested that the former president come to parliament.
