The participation of two MPs representing the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, Mano Ganeshan and P. Digambaram, in the discussion held today at a private hotel in Colombo under the patronage of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has created a turbulent situation in the political arena.
Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe had invited politicians who supported him in the last presidential election to this discussion. In addition, former Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Udaya Gammanpila, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Duminda Dissanayake, Kanchana Wijesekera, Sagala Ratnayake, and Vajira Abeywardena, who do not represent the current parliament, have also joined this discussion.
