The Ceylon Electricity Board says that the electricity tariff revision proposal is scheduled to be submitted to the Public Utilities Commission on the 6th. Its media spokesperson, Engineer A. D. K. Parakramasinghe, says that the preparation of the new tariff revision is in the final stages.
The Ceylon Electricity Board had previously submitted a proposal to reduce electricity tariffs in the range of 6 percent to 11 percent in accordance with the existing methodology.
Rejecting it, the Public Utilities Commission had informed that it had instructed the Electricity Board to re-formulate the tariff revision proposal considering the first 6 months of 2025.
