Randenigala spill gate opens

With the continuous torrential rains, all three automatic spill gates of the Randenigala Reservoir, which has the highest water capacity in the Central Highlands, have now been opened.

With the opening of the automatic spill gates of the Victoria Reservoir, its water capacity has joined Randenigala and its spillage has begun.

The spill gates release a capacity of 1600 cubic meters of water per second into the lower Mahaweli River, and as a result, the water level in areas such as Manampitiya may rise, so the Sri Lanka Mahaweli Supervisor informs the public to be vigilant.
