Four former cabinet ministers of the previous government have been summoned to the CID today, it is reported. This is to obtain a statement regarding the approval of a cabinet paper submitted by former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella to import 182 types of medicines under that government.
Accordingly, the four former ministers, Roshan Ranasinghe, Harin Fernando, Prasanna Ranatunga, and Ramesh Pathirana, have been summoned before the Criminal Investigation Department today.
The court has granted permission to the CID to obtain statements from the cabinet of the previous government, including former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, in connection with the investigation.
