The police informs that marching is prohibited until one week after the announcement of the results of the general election. Police Media Spokesman, Deputy Inspector General of Police Mr. Nihal Talduwa said this at a special press conference held today.
He mentioned that today, when the parliamentary polls were held, the same peaceful situation is expected to be maintained in the post-election period as well.
“We expect the peaceful situation that was maintained today to be maintained during the post-election period as well. We request all parties to support it. There is one thing that needs to be understood in particular.. No demonstrations will be allowed in any way. On foot or by vehicles. While viewing the results, they will not be allowed to gather in public places and watch using digital screens. We are working to dismantle those places.” He said.
