A complaint has been filed before the Supreme Court regarding a false statement made by a candidate for this year’s parliamentary elections in the last presidential election that the wealth stolen from the country was hidden in Uganda.
Harsha Priyanga, the complainant, made this comment in front of the media.
“The main point raised in the last presidential election was that the Rajapaksa’s have stolen money from our country and invested it in foreign countries. But she herself stated after the election that such a thing did not happen and that the money was taken legally by a company in our country.
A lawyer Nilanthi Kottahach publicly stated that our country’s money is hidden in Uganda and that money will be recovered after the election, thus we as a party became greatly helpless. Recently, there was an opinion that the people of our country were helpless without oil and gas because the Rajapaksas invested our country’s money in Uganda.
We requested the Hon’ble Supreme Court to take necessary disciplinary measures for the damage done by her by misusing this profession.” he said.
