President Ranil Wickramasinghe says that his government has reduced 20% of the debt owed to foreign countries as a debt relief, but due to the actions of the current government, there is a risk of losing that relief to the country.
He said this while addressing a public meeting held in Kalutara for the victories of the supporters of the New Democratic Front.
“The current government has promised to raise the paye tax limit to 2 lakhs. If that tax is reduce, the tax will have to be imposed in another place. The former president further questioned why the people will support the National People’s power in the elections if they do not declare that the Udaya Seneviratne report will be implemented, which will increase the salaries of government employees.
