The meeting between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Santhosh Jha took place at the President’s Office (01).
A detailed review of the development projects implemented in Sri Lanka under Indian aid was made here and the progress of those projects and the problems and challenges that have arisen in their implementation were also focused on.
The importance of further strengthening the long-term bilateral relations between India and Sri Lanka and reaching a long-term solution through a cooperation program by understanding the needs of the fishing communities of both countries was also discussed.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that he is always committed to protecting the interests of the Sri Lankan fishing community.
The President further stated that India’s support is expected for the success of the promotion and digitization program in Sri Lanka’s electricity and energy sector.
Indian Deputy High Commissioner Dr. Satyanjal Pandey was also present in this meeting.
