Two women who were swimming in the Amban river get washed away

Due to the opening of the sluice in the Naula, Bowathenna reservoir, two women who were swimming in the Amban River have been swept away.

However, after receiving a notification about this from the Naula police, the police officers, who acted immediately, have controlled the water in the reservoir.

Later, Dambulla police lifeguards were called and the two women who were drowning were rescued, given first aid and handed over to their parents.

Police say that the two women involved in the accident are residents of Kongahawela and Kagama, aged 20 and 25.
