Chamara Gunasekara is a character created to divert attention

According to environmentalist Nayanaka Ranwella, a person named Chamara Gunasekara, who is said to have received a bribe in lieu of compensation for the Xpress Pearl shipwreck that caught fire in the Colombo sea, cannot be found in England.

He mentioned that people who have been living in England for a long period of twenty to thirty years are unknown to such a person, and according to the law of England, this type of transaction cannot be done in a bank in that country.

He said that Minister Wijedasa Rajapakse made such a statement in Parliament with the intention of diverting attention.
