One hundred students were hospitalized due to the wasp attack

The Urubokka police say that over a hundred students and two non-academic staff of Pattigala Percy Abeywardana Maha Vidyalaya, which belongs to the Deniaya educational zone, were attacked by wasps yesterday (30).

According to the hospital sources, about 70 of the students who were attacked by the wasps were receiving treatment at the Hegoda Government Hospital yesterday afternoon, while another 08 students who were in a serious condition were transferred to the Embilipitiya General Hospital for further treatment and the rest of the students were discharged after receiving treatment.

It is said that two students who were in the playground were stung by wasps after a wasp nest tied to a tickle tree in a land near the school was stung and the rest of the students who came to save them were then stung by wasps.
