It is reported that two people died of heat shock due to the hot weather these days. Both of these people are residents of Eppawala area.
One of the deceased died after getting tired and doused himself with ice water during the New Year tug-of-war competition, while the other died after taking a bath after going to mow the grass in his field.
Post-mortem examinations have confirmed that the cause of these deaths was heat shock due to high temperatures.
