The Ministry of Health says that doctors who left Sri Lanka earlier due to various reasons are now returning to the island, so the shortage of doctors will hopefully be alleviated.
Joining a news conference, Deputy Director General (Medical Services) Dr. G. Wijesuriya mentioned this.
“Previously, there was a tendency for doctors not to return to Sri Lanka, especially those who received postgraduate training abroad. However, we are now seeing a reversal of this trend with more doctors choosing to return.” He said.
