Manusha Nanayakkara, Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment, gave air tickets for 95 Sri Lankan workers who were going to work in the agricultural sector in Israel. Accordingly, the number of workers who have left for jobs in the agricultural sector has reached 602.
In addition, air tickets were given to 54 workers who were leaving for nursing jobs. It includes 49 femele nursese and 5 male nurese. This group is scheduled to leave for Israel on the 21st and 22nd.
According to a bilateral agreement, workers are sent for nursing jobs in Israel through the Foreign Employment Bureau and so far 1070 workers have been sent for jobs in the nursing sector.
Minister Manusha Nanayakkara also stated that he hopes to meet with the Minister of Agriculture of Israel to discuss speeding up the obtaining of service contracts for employment in the agricultural sector in Israel.
