Dr. Susil Premajayantha, Minister of Education, says that necessary steps will be taken to fill the many vacancies in many positions in the education sector.
Accordingly, it was said that many new appointments in the services of education administration, principal, teacher educator, teacher consultant and teacher service will be given very soon, and the shortage of officers will be minimized by transferring redundant officers to other workplaces.
He mentioned that 4,672 new appointments in the principal service, which had been suppressed since 2019 due to legal proceedings, have been given so far and 4,400 of them have taken up work so far.
The minister emphasized here that new appointees with youthful energy should be ready to serve at least three years in any part of the country.
The Minister stated this while participating in a program held in Vavuniya to inform the principals and provincial education officers for the development of educational quality in the districts of Vavuniya, Mullaitivu and Mannar in the Northern Province.
