The Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said today in the Parliament that the statement made by the union leader of Ceylon Electricity Board, Ranjan Jayalal, that the electricity bills have not been paid for several months in the Parliament and the President’s Office is completely false, and that the two institutions have settled all the bills.
Accordingly, the Minister added that he should be summoned to the Parliament and questioned regarding the false statement, and that he made this statement with the intention of misleading the people.
He proposed to the Parliament to summon the union leader Ranjan Jayalal to the Parliament for publishing false information about the Parliament and the President’s Office.
