A donation of 21 crore rupees from Heart to Heart in America.

Following the request and intervention of the Sri Lankan Ambassador to the United States, Mahinda Samarasinghe, Heart to Heart International (HHI) in the United States continued to provide aid to Sri Lanka and donated a stock of emergency medicine for the 9th time.

1600 crores worth of drugs at Ambassador Mahinda’s request

This time the value of the donation is Rs 21 crore 33 lakhs which is more than 644,000 thousand dollars. These drugs include Amlodipine besylate, which is used to treat high blood pressure, and Everolimus, which is used to treat kidney, pancreatic, brain, and breast cancer. They are high quality, expensive drugs made in the USA.

As in the previous cases, the Ambassador has worked to create a background where Heart to Heart covers all expenses including transportation. This is the second shipment to Sri Lanka under Minister Ramesh Pathirana and another shipment was sent to Sri Lanka 03 weeks ago.

The value of medicines supplied to Sri Lanka by Heart to Heart International so far is approximately 46 million dollars i.e. 1600 crore rupees.
