Here is the reason for banning cricket.

The Leader of the Opposition stated in the Parliament that the letter sent by the Sri Lanka Cricket Federation to the International Cricket Council that the Ministry of Sports was interfering in the activities of the Sri Lanka Cricket Association was the reason for banning cricket in Sri Lanka.

Responding to the statement, Sri Lanka Cricket said that the suspension of the Sri Lanka Cricket was due to the continuous interference of Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe despite various warnings.

“This interference resulted in a breach of Article 2.4D as Sri Lanka Cricket was unable to comply with that clause. It is clear that the suspension was not the result of a misquoted or misunderstood communication by Sri Lanka Cricket.” It is stated in the announcement.

Sri Lanka Cricket added that many people may not fully understand the intricacies of how sports associations affiliated to international organizations such as the ICC operate. It is stated in the announcement that before criticizing the Sri Lanka Cricket Association, it is requested to study the existing legal situation and the facts correctly.
