Deputy Inspector General of Traffic Control and Road Safety Indika Hapugoda says that 13 post offices in the Western Province-South covering Colombo and Kalutara districts are open 24 hours a day for payment of fines related to traffic offences. This work is being implemented as a pilot project.
A number of specific post offices including Kompanjaveediya, Havelock Town, Wellawatta, Borella, Kotahena, Battaramulla, Nugegoda, Dehiwala, Galkissa, Moratuwa, Panadura, Kalutara and Seethakapura will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to accept fines.
