Foreign media reports that Israel launched a missile attack on Lebanon last night. Four Patriot missiles fired from Israeli territory have exploded in southern Lebanon’s airspace and the fourth has fallen on a plain in the area, Lebanese military sources reported, Xinhua International News Agency.
Three of these missiles exploded in Marjeyoun and Khiam, while the fourth fell in the southern Lebanese city of Al-Mari. No deaths or injuries have been reported in the attack yet.
Israel had accused Lebanon of firing rockets towards its country, which Lebanon had denied. Before the attack, sirens sounded for several minutes in all Israeli settlements along the Lebanese border, and shortly after this attack took place.
The attack comes four days after a Lebanon-based armed group fired missiles at Israeli military positions on Sunday morning in support of Saturday’s attack by Hamas. International news analysts say that if the Israel-Hamas conflict spreads further, it will have a worse impact on the world than the Ukraine war.
