Maharagama Sita Atanna, who was shot at while taking the procession to Mahianganaya Rajamaha Temple, was hit by seven bullets, said Dr. Ashoka Dangolla, a senior professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Peradeniya University, who is treating the elephant.
