Due to the trade union action initiated by a group of train drivers, the passengers are in dire straits and currently there are many delays as well as train cancellations, according to the Railway Control Room.
Due to that situation, passengers can be seen riding on rhe top of train carriages and engines without safety, our reporters say. Meanwhile, the railway control room says that a passenger who boarded the train from Kandy to Colombo fell from the roof and died.
The railway control room says that this young man who came on the roof of the train fell to the ground in Horape area and died on the spot.
