The first Randoli Perahera of the Senkadagalapura Esala Perahera Festival is scheduled to be visited tonight (26).
At twenty-six minutes after seven o’clock, the Dalada Perahera is visited along with the four great temples of Natha, Vishnu, Kataragama and Pattini. The procession will come up along Dalada Street, DS Senanayake Street, Temple Road, pass through Deva Street, Colombo Street, Kotugodella Street, Cross Street, DS Senanayake Street and return to Sri Dalada Maliagawa from Raja Street.
The Perahera Organizing Committee expects a large number of local and foreign devotees to attend this year’s Perahera Festival, which will be held after the epidemic situation and the economic crisis.
The final Kumbal Perahera toured the streets yesterday (25) where the Sadhatuka Perahera Karaduwa was led by Vasana tusker of Ruhunu Kataragama Mahadevala. Sinharaja elephants of Sri Dalada Maligawa elephant class and Kandula elephants of Kelani Rajamaha Vihara took their journey.
Mr. Hemantha Bandara Herath, Basnayake Nilame of Pattini Temple, walked in the last kubal procession representing Diyawadana Nilame.
