Minister Prasanna Ranatunga, the chief organizer of the ruling party, emphasizes that the opposition is creating a false impression in the country that the government is influencing the judiciary. He points out that the courts do not give decisions based on the decisions taken by the Parliament.
The minister pointed out that the army soldiers were made uncomfortable and took advantage of the struggle without law and order. He also said that certain political parties are working to destroy the state by destroying the judiciary, the constitution and the executive.
Minister Nimal Siripalada Silva said that the law and tradition of the Parliament is that when the Speaker gives a decision, it is a decision, and if someone challenges it, there is a way to do so.
MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that a resolution of the Parliament does not become a law, and Parliament has a way to go through the courts when enacting any law.
