Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket, Shammi Silva, said that the allegations that Sri Lanka Cricket has spent money on the actresses and friends who came to watch the 20-20 World Cup cricket tournament held in Australia.
In a special press conference at the Sri Lanka Cricket Institute today (25), the chairman said that he is ready to resign from the chairmanship if it is proved that the money of the Sri Lanka Cricket Institute has been spent on the actors and actresses.
The chairman further stated that the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has issued letters to the actors and actresses and friends who participated in the tournament, but the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has not spent any money on them.
The President said that the group of actors and actresses went to Australia to encourage the players and that it is normal for actors and actresses to come to encourage the Sri Lankan team during the matches held in Sri Lanka.
