28 airport union bosses set for big game send home .

The Chairman of the Airport and Aviation Service Company Limited, Engineer Atula Galkatiya, has taken steps to suspend the services of 28 high-ranking leaders, including the president of the newly established Airport Joint Trade Union in Katunayake Airport, and put them on compulsory leave with immediate effect.

This trade union has joined all other international airports operating in Sri Lanka including Katunayake Airport, domestic airports and employees of Piduruthalagala Radar Centre.

The Chairman of Airports and Airlines Company Limited points out that the secretary of this trade union has sent letters with the aim of blocking and disrupting all air services that have air connections with Sri Lanka.

They do not have the legal and moral right to take such a step and to conduct a formal investigation into this misconduct, they will be on compulsory leave with immediate effect, says Engineer Atula Galkatiya, President of the Airport and Airline Service Company.
