An Iranian drone attack this morning has caused a fire at the Ras Tanura oil refinery in Saudi Arabia, Reuters reports.
Ras Tanura is Saudi Arabia’s largest refinery and has been targeted by Iranian drones. The Saudi Defense Ministry quoted the country’s official SPA news agency as saying that two drones that came to attack the Ras Tanura refinery were destroyed, and that the fire at the refinery has been brought under control after the drones caught fire.
Ras Tanura, located on the east coast of Saudi Arabia, is considered one of the country’s major oil refining and export centers. It has a daily production capacity of 550,000 barrels.
