Rohitha Abeygunawardena, a member of parliament of the party, said that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna as a party has not yet taken a decision regarding the appointment of Ranil Wickremesinghe as the next presidential candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
The MP further said that Minister Kanchana Wijesekera’s comment that Ranil Wickremesinghe is being proposed as the next presidential candidate is his personal opinion.
Answering a question raised by the media whether there are people in the Podujana Peramuna who are more qualified for the presidential candidacy than the current President Ranil Wickremesinghe, he said that he said that there are people in the party who are qualified for that, but we should not be too quick to say who the actor is when the screen is closed.
