The Association of Public Health Inspectors is appealing to the public that there is a risk of three diseases spreading due to the rainy weather conditions that have affected the island.
According to Mr. Upul Rohana, head of the association, eye diseases, diarrhea and respiratory diseases, often accompanied by high body temperature, are spreading rapidly.
He emphasized that it is important to maintain personal hygiene in order to control the spread of these diseases and that one should always pay attention to one’s health. He also highlighted the increase in dengue cases across the island, especially in areas inundated by heavy rains and subsequent floods.
