Ukraine is asking for international help to get its children taken by Russia.

The human rights commissioner of Ukraine calls for increasing international pressure on the Moscow regime to return thousands of Ukrainian children who were forcibly taken to Russia and detained.

“When Russia feels international pressure, that’s when we can bring back more Ukrainian children,” Dmytro Lubinets told Reuters news agency, days after several minors were reunited with their parents in western Ukraine.

He added that children expected to return include children taken from orphanages, those who had parents but were “abducted” and children orphaned during war. The International Criminal Court has already issued warrants against Vladimir Putin and the country’s children’s commissioner for child abduction.
