This is not the time for election.

MP Vadivel Suresh expressed that despite the plantation people having been in this country for 200 years, no government has taken any steps to improve their economic and social status or enhance infrastructure.

He emphasized that he is an independent MP who does not align with any particular party, and his focus is always on advocating for the rights of the plantation community.

He stated that given the unresolved economic issues in the country, it is not appropriate to hold an election at this time. He further asserted that he has 1.7 million votes, which he is ready to grant to anyone who actively intervenes to address the problems faced by the plantation people.

He made these remarks during a press conference held in Hatton yesterday.
