Sri Lanka has started an investigation after the Central Drug Standards Control Agency complained that the quality of drugs purchased from an Indian company was unsatisfactory.
The Indian media reported that the government of Sri Lanka has informed the government that about 30 people in Sri Lanka developed allergies due to a drug used for eye disorders supplied by the related pharmaceutical company ‘Indiana’ in Gujarat.
Accordingly, the Pharmaceutical Export Council of India, which has summoned the accused company for inquiry, has also ordered an internal investigation into the incident.
