Seven women sexually assaulted budhist, who residing at Nikaverati Kotavehera Weeradadana ”Metsandha” Viharaya. The chif imcumbant of the temple say that these seven women are related to a politician of nikaweratiya pradeshiya sabha .
He said that this temple was established with the knowledge of the chief priests of the Asgiri sect due to a caste issue among the people of Wiradadana village due to the misbehavior of the temples in the area.
They said that the monk is currently recovering in the hospital and that the raped women have locked the doors and gates of the temple and taken away the keys. Kotavehera Police say that several women have been arrested so far.
