Minister of Transport Bandhula Gunawardena says that QR technology will be introduced for buses as complaints are being received that bus drivers and conductors in some provinces do not hand over the prescribed passenger ticket fares to the depot and do not issue tickets to the passengers at the prescribed price.
He further said that as a solution to that, it is hoped to introduce the QR technology that does not use cash.
Mass Media Minister Bandula Gunawardena emphasized that the method of getting bus and train tickets without using money through QR technology will be introduced this year.
