Samanala Wewa police have managed to arrest a police constable who scared a young woman who came to visit Samanala Wewa and took her to a forest area while she was stripping her naked.
The incident was faced by an 18-year-old girl and her boyfriend came to see the Samanala Wewa , a police officer came on a motorcycle and searched the boyfriend’s pockets and wallet, alleging that the boyfriend was in possession of drugs.
Then he put handcuffs on one of the lover’s hands and connected the hand part of the handcuffs to the frame of the motorcycle and took the young woman to the forest area by force. A person who came there at that time informed the Samanalawewa Police about this. It is also reported that even when the police officers entered the forest, the constable had stripped the young woman.
The police constable was arrested at that time and it has been revealed that he is attached to the Hambegamuwa Police in Monaragala Division.
The arrested constable was produced before the Balangoda Magistrate’s Court yesterday and remanded until the 20th of the accident. Police sources say that the suspected police constable has been suspended.
