Hamilton Reserve Bank Bond Fraud

The bond transaction of the Hamilton Reserve Bank of යි which happened during the time when Ajith Nivard Cabral was the Governor of the Central Bank, has managed to win the attention of many local and foreign newspapers.

America’s Hamilton Reserve Bank has filed a lawsuit in the New York District Court to obtain the amount of 250 billion US dollars due in July 2022 and the related interest of 7.3 million dollars.

The Financial Times newspaper has reported on this based on the case assigned to a New York court to recover the sovereign bonds and related interest.

America’s Financial Times revealed that the American government is directly involved in the case because Benjamin Wei, a Chinese-American financial businessman, is behind this transaction.

Citing a Twitter message issued by Hamilton Bank in 2022, this newspaper has revealed information about a discussion Benjamin Wey had with the then Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Mr. Ajith Nivard Cabral.

The bonds were bought by the Hamilton Reserve Bank branch on the island of St. Kitts and Nevy, which has a gross domestic product of less than $1 billion in a country of about 50,000 people. Commenting on this, Samagi Janabalawega Member of Parliament Harsha De Silva says that Ajith Nivard Cabral has caused a huge loss to Sri Lanka by investing in Greek bonds
