Wagner leader Prigoshin, who challenged Putin, is coming to Belarus

Yevgeny Prigoshin, the leader of the Wagner mercenaries, is currently in his country, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko announced. Foreign media had also reported that Prigoshin arrived in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, by his private jet.

Belarusian President Lukashenko further said that Wagner mercenaries was ready to provide an abandoned military base to join with their leader. The President of Belarus has taken steps to negotiate with Wagner, the military leader who fought against Russian leader Vladimir Putin, and has also promised to provide protection to Prigoshin. Meanwhile, Russia has already announced that they does not intend to file a criminal case against leader Prigoshina.

Wagner soldiers have said they want to sign regular military contracts, go home or go to Belarus. But NATO members Poland, Latvia and Lithuania have warned that Wagner’s visit to Belarus could cause trouble for them as neighbours. A Lithuanian presidential adviser said mercenaries are dangerous because they can participate in sabotage and invasion operations.
