The Maritime Environment Protection Authority has appointed two presidential lawyers to assist the Attorney General’s Department in the proceedings of the compensation case assigned in Singapore to obtain compensation for the environmental damage caused by the ship X-Press Pearl.
Its chairman, lawyer Asela Rekawa, stated that President’s lawyer Mr. Roland Perera and President’s lawyer Mr. Chandaka Jayasundara were appointed as such.
While the Attorney General’s Department has also been informed in this regard, the chairman also stated that he will provide the support of his authority to the Attorney General’s Department through the relevant lawyers
