This government put srilanka into a trap by entering security agreement with India

Privithuru Hela Urumaya leader and lawyer Udaya Gammanpila says that Sri Lanka could become part of a continuous India through a security agreement with India. Stating that Sri Lanka has unnecessarily taken on the risk of war by entering into a security agreement with India, he stressed that Sri Lanka will be more secure and will receive economic benefits by being independent without joining any power bloc.

He made these comments at a media conference held in Colombo.

Sri Lanka has entered into a security agreement with India in a way that no head of state in independent Sri Lanka has done. Prime Minister Bandaranaike, First Lady Sirimavo, President J.R. Jayewardene and President Ranil Wickremesinghe had a good understanding of world political trends. Prime Minister Sirimavo, President Mahinda Rajapaksa and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had good knowledge of national security. None of these heads of state have entered into a security agreement with India because they do not want Sri Lanka to become a party to a global power struggle.

By 2050, the world’s two major powers will be China and India. Therefore, Western powers will rally around India to confront the threat from China. The COD organization, formed by the United States, India, Japan, and Australia, is one such organization.

The power bases of tomorrow will be India and China. We were not aligned with either of the two power bases, the United States and the Soviet Union, then, and we must be independent now as well. Entering into a security agreement with India in such a context shows that the current government has no understanding of national security or global trends.

Sri Lanka will be more secure and economically beneficial by being independent without joining any power base. Out of the 21 invasions that have taken place in Sri Lanka over the past 2,600 years, 17 have come from India.

Today, India’s need is to create an undivided India or a continuous India, which is the dream raised by the Hindu Vishwa Parishad. According to that concept, Sri Lanka should also be a part of India. This concept of continuous India has been displayed in the Indian Parliament today and has been transformed into a national vision. We see this security agreement as grabbing a tiger’s tail.

Minister Nalinda Jayatissa, who constantly spoke about the Easter attacks in the opposition, often said in those days that the Indian government was behind the Easter attacks. Not only that. He accused President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and President Ranil Wickremesinghe of not having the backbone to ask Prime Minister Modi for Sarah, the wife of the terrorist who carried out the Katuwapitiya mosque attack. As if by a stroke of fate, when Prime Minister Modi visited Sri Lanka, Minister Nalinda was with Prime Minister Modi throughout the entire visit, acting as an escort minister.

If Modi, who makes fake agreements, had said in advance that Sri Lanka is a friend of ours, 83,000 lives would have been saved

In 1971, we sacrificed 17,000 of our youth lives against Indian expansionism by listening to the JVP leaders’ words of “Motherland or death”. Similarly, in 1987, we fought against the Indo-Lanka agreement and sacrificed 67,000 lives. In that case, 83,000 people have sacrificed their lives out of patriotism in this country against Indian expansionism. When President Gotabaya and President Ranil signed agreements with Prime Minister Modi, President Anura called them fake agreements.
