The reason for Kudu Salindu’s fled from the country is revealed.

The Court of Appeal today (21) ordered that the writ petition filed by Salindu Malshitha alias Kudu Salindu, through his lawyers, seeking an order to prevent the issuance of a red notice against him through the Interpol be called on July 3rd for consideration.

This petition was called before the Acting President of the Court of Appeal, Mohamed Lafar Tahir, and a bench of Court of Appeal judges, Priyantha Fernando.

At that time, Additional Solicitor General Shanil Kularatne, who appeared for the Attorney General, presented the facts in court and pointed out that it was not possible to maintain this petition.

The Additional Solicitor General stated that this petitioner was arrested in Madagascar in 2023 and brought to this country and was then detained and investigated.

The Additional Solicitor General stated that information had been received that the suspect had fled the country after his release, pointing out that such a request could not be made by a person who had fled the country.

The lawyer appearing for the petitioner stated in court that his client was detained for a year after his arrest and was remanded for about seven months.

The lawyer stated that the High Court judge had then decided to release his client on bail after the State Counsel informed him that there was no direct evidence against him.

The lawyer stated that various individuals had subsequently made serious threats to his client demanding money and that he had fled the country due to fear for his life.

The bench, which considered the arguments presented by both parties, ordered that the petition be called on July 3rd to ascertain the facts.
